CATS CORNER:

Here are some updates from this weekends Kentucky Wildcat Elite Camp provided by http://blog.kentuckysportsradio.com/. See what you think!

- Matthew Pilgrim is a beast. He played very well down low, and a player on the team voiced his approval, saying that he wished we had Pilgrim for next year. It's probably more accurate to say that Pilgrim stands at 6'6"" or 6'7"", but there is no questioning his talent.

- Hunter McClintock played well, though he struggled a bit scoring the basketball. Matt said it was more like his shots weren't falling rather than an inability to produce, so this shouldn't be a major worry. He did pass the ball well, however. Matt should have much more about Hunter in the very near future.

-OK, look, there was a dude named Malik at the camp. Was it Malik Story? Maybe. Was it someone else named Malik? Possibly. IT WAS NOT Malik Story; so, there's that. Obviously this will be answered very soon, but the Malik in question is an '08 guy.

GAMING NEWS:

Here we go, the rumors MAY NOW stop to exist. NO BLU-RAY FOR XBOX 360! THAT'S GREAT NEWS! That means that I don't have to fork-out $500 bucks for my third Xbox 360 in a row. Yeah, everytime a new Xbox hit retail shelves, I BOUGHT ONE. Sad, isn't it. But, I like the way that Microsoft is "putting another nail in the PS3 coffin" by adding motion control to its existing skew. COOL BEANS! Checkout this story released on www.ign.com this past weekend. Let me know what you thing?

No Blu-ray for Xbox 360 (Motion controls will be added to the existing system) - Microsoft's Robbie Bach has categorically denied a fresh round of rumours that the Xbox 360 will be supporting Blu-ray in the near future, but was less quick to scotch speculation that motion controls were on their way to the console.

Bach, who has the pleasure of overseeing the Entertainment & Devices Division, reiterated the company's stance on the technology in an interview with SF Gate, emphasizing Microsoft's focus on delivering content over Xbox Live. "You have to look at how fundamentally compelling the difference is between a progressive scan DVD player and the picture that it can produce and what you get on a high-definition player," he added, "The reality is there is some difference, but most people look at it and say, "I am not going to pay extra for that."

One persistent rumour that looks to have more credence is the possibility of motion controls coming to the 360, with Bach conceding that it's an interesting technology whilst reiterating Microsoft's own innovations. "Look at things that are happening in music games and the massive popularity of things like Rock Band and Guitar Hero," said Bach, "Look at the phenomenon that is Xbox Live and what that's done and how that is changing the game space. If you were doing a canonical of what's new and exciting in this generation, you would put all three as the major trend of things that are happening in the marketplace. We participate in some of those and we don't participate in others. That's what defines the differences between us and Nintendo. We don't have any specific plans about what we are going to do technologically."

When further pushed on whether work was taking place on the technology, Bach said that "We have people working on all kinds of things." - by Martin Robinson, IGN UK

MOVIE NEWS:

TTTRRRAAANNNNSSSFFOORRRMMMMEEERRRSSS, MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE! I can't wait for the release of the BRAND NEW Transformenr movie hits in 2009. I'm still watching last years hit on HD-DVD (By the way, the first Transformer movie that was released on HD-DVD this past November will be coming to BLU-RAY in September of 2008) Found a story on www.ign.com that suggests the new title and plot of the upcoming blockbuster.

Transformers 2 Title Buzz (What does Revenge of the Fallen mean?) - Fans have been wondering what exactly the title Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen means, and now a new report online has uncovered that answer.

According to CHUD, who claims to have verified the following scoop via reliable inside sources, "the Fallen" refers to one of the original 13 Transformers created by Primus.

The site points out this entry on the Fallen, which reminds us that "the robot who would become the Fallen betrayed his creator by siding with Primus's dark twin, the malevolent planet-eater, Unicron. In the final battle between Primus and Unicron, the Fallen fell victim to the same fate as his master, sucked through a black hole into another dimension. However, while Unicron emerged into another universe, the Fallen was not so fortunate, finding himself trapped in the 'underspace' between dimensions." - by Jim Vejvoda

Will gearhear be abjusting our internet access prices. I have been contacted by AT&T and they have access available now in the Banner KY area. The pricing is right @ 19.00 less for faster service?

I actually went with AT&T because the prices charged for the cable broadband by this company are completely outrageous. I get the 6.144mb that Inter Mountain Cable charges $229.95 a month for, through AT&T at $47.95 a month. I used to live in Lexington, Ky where I got 10mb speed cable broadband access for $30.00 a month and other Cable companies in the surrounding counties here locally and even in the Prestonsburg City Limits are very comparable to the AT&T 6mb price for the same 6mb services. Personally I would and did go with the AT&T till this company decides to start charging more normal prices instead of trying to gouge their customers.

Is there any chance in the future that we may be able to watch Nancy Grace on Headline news? It is after all a sub of CNN. Also, any updates on the Anime channel?

1 more thing, When I moved into the IMCTV area, the net speeds were a plus compared to Sat internet (money and speed) and the one thing we miss is the caller ID on the TV. Any thoughts from Gearheart on this?
